Attorney Kevin Rodriguez
Kevin Rodriguez is a personal injury attorney at Maurer Law representing individuals and families in serious injury cases throughout Northern California. A seasoned litigator with more than 15 years of experience, Kevin handles cases from the initial investigation through litigation, settlement, and trial.
Kevin is known for being thorough, strategic, and persistent. He has spent his career handling heavily litigated personal injury cases, taking and defending depositions, working with expert witnesses, arguing contested legal issues, and preparing cases for trial. At Maurer Law, he brings that experience to representing injured people and families against insurance companies and corporate defendants.
Kevin believes serious personal injury cases require more than simply processing a claim and negotiating a settlement. They require understanding the medicine, developing the evidence, knowing the law, anticipating the defense, and preparing the case from the beginning with trial in mind. His approach is hands-on and litigation-focused, with an emphasis on building each case around the individual client and the full impact of the injury on that person’s life.
Experience on the Other Side
Before joining Maurer Law, Kevin spent more than 15 years defending personal injury cases for insurance companies, insured individuals, and corporate clients. He developed a reputation as a tough and experienced defense attorney and handled cases through all phases of litigation. Kevin also has litigation experience navigating workers’ compensation and personal injury cross-over cases as well as third-party tort claims under the Privette doctrine.
Kevin previously served as the lead attorney for GEICO Claims in Northern California, where he supervised a team of attorneys and oversaw litigation involving more than 1,000 claims each year. He later served as in-house counsel supporting the property and casualty operations of CSAA and Mobilitas.
That experience gave Kevin an inside understanding of how insurance companies approach personal injury cases. He has seen firsthand how insurers investigate claims, evaluate injuries, assess risk, retain experts, prepare witnesses, value cases, and make decisions about settlement and trial.
Today, Kevin uses that knowledge on behalf of injured people. He knows how experienced defense attorneys analyze a case, where they look for weaknesses, which evidence changes an insurer’s evaluation, and what makes a case difficult to defend. That perspective allows him to anticipate defense strategies early and build cases designed to withstand them.
Beyond the Law
Outside of the law, Kevin has a longstanding commitment to physical and mental wellness. He has practiced yoga for nearly a decade and has completed more than 2,000 hours of yoga teacher training. His practice has expanded over the years to include meditation, breathwork, and mindfulness. Kevin credits those disciplines with reinforcing the importance of focus, resilience, patience, and adaptability—qualities he also brings to his work as an attorney.
Kevin lives in the Sacramento area with his wife and daughter.
